Rye lager
Žitný speciál 13°
In 2017, Žitný speciál 13° was added to our range of special beers. It is a rye lager made by traditional bottom fermentation, during the production of which we replaced part of the barley malt with rye. The 13% malt extract rye lager has a greater colour, which corresponds to the more pronounced colour of the rye malt. Rye grain gives the beer a distinct fullness, which is also due in part to the lower degree of fermentation, and a slightly coarser flavour with a mild aftertaste of hops. In combination with the aromatic Hallertauer Tradition hop variety, rye gives this special beer distinctive grain and straw tones.
The rye special produces a rich head that sticks to the glass when properly tapped.
